Melody Albertine's Adventures on the Serpent Walks

Melody Albertine and her robot valet Žiži are metaphysical adventurers and metaphorical detectives, drifting from one dreamlike reality to another,  unravelling the curious and fascinating lands they find themselves in using a combination of inquisitiveness, oblique logic and luck.

In the three stories of Melody Albertine’s Adventures on the Serpent Walks, Melody and Žiži  encounter reality-warping mechanical devices, a plethora of religious allegories and a dastardly murder, taking all in their bickering stride.

The stories that make up this collection were written between 2013 and 2015 as a writing exercise, taking a handful of particularly vivid dreams and exploring their internal logic through the lens of these two characters. As time went by, the project also roped in the creative talents of Prague-based illustrator Laurence Jenkins and Japan-based musicians Lo-shi, Graeme Lorne and Takeshi Yamamoto. However, I never really found the motivation to publish them and ask for people's money for what were conceived essentially as  confections, so I decided instead to post them for free here for anyone who finds the whimsy of my youth amusing.
